MONTGOMERY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUMMIT

CONTEXT:

MITS (Montgomery Information Technology Summit) is an annual event hosted by the Montgomery Chapter of AFCEA International, bringing together leaders in government, military, and technology. The AFCEA Educational Foundation, which has invested over $5 million in scholarships for Montgomery-area students.

In 2018, I served as Creative Director for MITS, overseeing brand identity, visual strategy, and live event content creation. This year’s summit included keynote presentations, networking events, and panel discussions with senior military officials and industry experts.

CREATIVE DIRECTION:

As Creative Director, I was responsible for shaping the public-facing identity and digital engagement of MITS 2018.

  • Designed a new MITS logo to modernize and unify the event’s branding across all platforms

  • Managed and executed the social media strategy, creating a consistent visual identity and engagement plan leading up to and during the event

  • Established rules of engagement for online communications to maintain brand tone and professionalism

  • Produced live interviews with attendees and speakers, capturing insights and promoting the event in real time

  • Oversaw livestream production of panels and keynote sessions to expand reach to remote audiences

  • Directed creation of social media content, including photography, video highlights, and graphic posts for promotional use

  • Balancing high-level creative strategy with hands-on production, ensuring MITS 2018 maintained a professional yet dynamic presence that reflected its reputation as a premier IT and defense industry conference.
